Policies

This document provides a high-level overview of policies for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program. All policies are designed in alignment with Prometric testing standards and Florida Board of Nursing guidelines. A detailed Student Handbook with full policies, procedures, and evaluation criteria is provided upon enrollment.

Program Structure

The CNA program consists of 120 total hours including classroom instruction, hands-on skills lab, and supervised clinical training in a skilled nursing facility. Training is designed to prepare students for the Prometric CNA examination, including both written and skills components.

Attendance Policy

Students are expected to maintain strict attendance. Due to the hands-on nature of the program and Prometric skill competency requirements, missed time may require make-up sessions or may result in dismissal from the program.

Skills Competency

Students must demonstrate competency in all required CNA skills based on Prometric testing standards. Skills are practiced in the lab setting and evaluated prior to participation in clinical training.

Clinical Requirements

Students must successfully complete lab-based preparation before entering the clinical setting. All clinical experiences are supervised by qualified instructors and aligned with state and testing standards.

Professional Conduct

Students are expected to maintain professional behavior at all times, including punctuality, respectful communication, and adherence to patient privacy standards. Unprofessional conduct may result in disciplinary action.

Dress Code

Students are required to wear appropriate clinical attire, including scrubs and closed-toe shoes, during lab and clinical sessions.

Health & Safety Requirements

Students must meet all health and safety requirements prior to participation, including background screening, TB testing, and any additional requirements per clinical site policies.

Evaluation & Testing

Student progress is evaluated through skills check-offs, written assessments, and instructor observation. Final program completion is based on successful demonstration of required competencies aligned with Prometric standards.

Confidentiality

All student and patient information must be kept confidential in accordance with HIPAA and program policies.
